Miss USA 2010

Rima Faikh from Michigan who was representing USA in “Miss USA 2010” won the crown. The 59th edition pageant was held at the theater of Performing Art in the Planet Hollywood resort and at Casino in Las Vegas on the 16th May 2010. In the end of the event Kristen Dalton from the North California who was Miss USA in 2009 crowned Rima on her success.

The show was live broadcast on NBC network and there were 50 Representatives from the different states in the competition to win the title of Miss USA. The show was hosted by an Australian Celebrity named Chef Curtis Stone and different country music stars performed live on the competition.

The color commentary was given by Joan and Melissa. The show was also webcast live via Ustream. The selection for the representatives for each state was held between June 2009 and January 2010. In the finale of the show fifteen contestants were there for the title from which 10 were passed form the swimsuit competition and after the last round which was “question round” the judges announced the name of the winner.

Rima , 24 year old Arab-American Lady ,is the first ever Muslim lady who has won the title of Miss USA and also the first Miss Michigan since Kenya Moore who won the Title of Miss USA in 1993. Rima was born in New York in 1986 and was raised in Dearborn along with her younger brother.
