Damn but Gillen knows how to write his Aesir! Loki’s monologue is so ridiculously pitch perfect it hurts. It’s still a tough call to know just where everything in this story is leading, and this issue honestly didn’t do that much to move it forward, but it is still an enjoyable read.
I was, however, a little confused by a few continuity issues:

I was, however, a little confused by a few continuity issues:
- Volstagg climbing out of the rubble of Asgard. Didn’t the last issue end with him standing alongside it, triumphant against the now crushed Ragnarok?
- Thunderball attacking the Norse gods. Wasn’t he standing against the rest of the Wrecking Crew in the Young Avengers one-shot? I thought we’d get the explanation here. Will we ever?
- Where exactly does Loki’s one shot fit in with all of this? Presumably beforehand?
